Henrik I. Christensen got his initial training in mechanical engineering, and earned M.Sc.EE and PhD degrees in 1987 and 1989, respectively, from Aalborg University. He has held positions at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Aalborg University, University of Pennsylvania and Royal Institute of Technology (KTH - Stockholm). He has recently moved to Georgia Institute of Technology where he is a distinguished professor of computer science and director of the Center for Robotics and Intelligent Machines. He founded and chaired (2000-2006) the European Robotics Network (EURON), which involves more than 170 institutions across Europe, and he is an officer of International Foundation of Robotics Research (IFRR). He has published more than 200 papers in journals and at conferences. He serves on the editorial board of 5 major scientific journals. His research focuses on cognitive systems, system modeling and integration.
